Weather Wizard (hereinafter referred to as “the App”) is a free weather forecast mobile application distributed on the Apple App Store. We respect your privacy fully and design our service to minimize data collection.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users accessing and using Weather Wizard on iOS devices. It complies with Apple App Store Review Guidelines, EU GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, CalOPPA, and other applicable regional data protection laws across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

We act as the data controller for all information gathered via the App.

2. No Account Registration Required

Weather Wizard does not require you to create an account, log in, submit emails, phone numbers, usernames, passwords, or any identity credentials to use full app functionality. There is no user account system built into the application at all. We never store login profiles tied to individual people.

3. Information Collected

3.1 Information We Collect (Only Non-Personal Anonymous Device Metadata)

We only collect anonymous, non-personally identifiable device information automatically when you open and use the App. None of this data can be used to identify a specific individual. The limited dataset includes:

Device hardware model (e.g., iPhone 15, iPad Air)

· iOS operating system version

· App display language setting selected on your device

· General approximate geographic region (city-level rough area only; no precise GPS coordinate tracking)

3.2 What We NEVER Collect

We explicitly do not gather any Personal Identifiable Information (PII), including but not limited to:

· Full name, address, email, phone number, date of birth

· Exact real-time GPS coordinates, precise location pins

· Photos, camera roll, contacts, calendar, health data, clipboard content

· Payment details, credit card, billing information

· Social media accounts, Apple ID linked personal profiles

· Browsing history, third-party app activity on your device

4. How We Use Collected Anonymous Data

The anonymous device metadata listed above is used solely for these limited operational purposes:

· Deliver accurate region-matched weather forecasts to your approximate location

· Optimize app compatibility for different iOS versions and iPhone/iPad hardware models

· Render the App interface in your selected device language

· Troubleshoot minor performance crashes and stability issues across device types

· Analyze aggregate anonymous usage trends to improve forecast accuracy and app experience

· We will never use this anonymous metadata for targeted advertising, marketing outreach, user profiling, or resale to outside businesses.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

5.1 No Sale of Any Data

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade any collected anonymous device information to advertisers, marketing firms, data brokers, or external corporations for monetary gain, in compliance with CCPA and global privacy standards.

5.2 Limited Necessary Third-Party Weather Data Providers

To serve weather forecasts, we pull meteorological data from public weather API services. Only your approximate region is sent to retrieve forecast data; no device identifiers or personal details are transmitted to weather service partners.

No full device metadata (model, OS, language) is shared with weather data suppliers.

5.3 Legal Disclosure Exception

We may disclose stored anonymous data only when legally obligated: responding to valid court orders, government regulatory requests, or mandatory legal compliance requirements applicable to our operation. We will attempt to notify users of such disclosures where permitted by law.

6. Data Storage, Security & Retention

6.1 Transmission Security: All data sent between your device and our servers uses industry-standard TLS encrypted connections to prevent interception.

Storage Location: Anonymous device records are stored on secure cloud servers hosted within compliant data jurisdictions meeting GDPR and US data protection benchmarks.

6.2 Retention Period: Anonymous device metadata is retained for a maximum of 90 days. After this window, records are automatically purged or fully anonymized into aggregate statistical pools with no traceable device markers.

6.3 Local Device Storage: No personal user files or identity records are saved persistently on your iPhone/iPad. Cache only holds temporary weather forecast files for offline quick viewing, which you can clear anytime via iOS Settings > Weather Wizard.

7. User Privacy Rights

Since we hold zero personal identifiable data tied to you, traditional access, correction, deletion, data portability requests for PII do not apply. However, you retain the following controls:

· Location Permission Toggle: You may deny location access entirely in iOS Settings > Weather Wizard. If location access is disabled, you can manually type a city name to receive weather updates; core app features remain fully functional without location permissions.

· Language Control: Your device language setting is fully controlled by you in system iOS settings at all times.

· Uninstall Option: Deleting Weather Wizard removes all local temporary cache instantly, and no lingering device records remain linked to your hardware long-term after retention expiry.

· EU GDPR Rights: If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may submit an inquiry confirming we hold no personal data associated with your identity by contacting our support email listed in Section 9.

· CCPA Consumer Rights (California Residents): As we collect no PII subject to CCPA disclosure obligations, no opt-out-of-sale mechanisms are required—we maintain a zero-data-sale policy permanently.

8. Children’s Privacy

Weather Wizard is a general audience application not targeted at children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect any information from minors of any age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, rest assured no personal or identifying data has been captured. Contact us immediately with concerns via our support channel.
